The New Year is coming, and Zynga has made some preparations to make us busy in the game. The Castleberry Punch Quest is now available, the quest will be expired in 13 days, and there are some changes in the requirements, like on the second mission, you will need to craft a new item, the punch prep table. We also have updated the guide following the requirement changes, so be sure to check our quest guide
.
The New Year Limited edition items has been around for a few days, and as usual, you need to buy most of them with crowns.. you can see the new year limited items in here:

And as for the New Year Event, Zynga will use Times Square in NYC to celebrate their players. Through January 2nd, they are featuring the fans on their Times Square Billboards. Zynga will also put the event in video and pictures, so if you’re not in NYC /going to NYC, you will be able to see the event from webcam and gallery in this site: www.iheartplayzynga.com.

If you want to know what are the rewards from leveling up royal buildings, or maybe you’re trying to decide which royal building is worth rebuilding with new active crews, then this guide can help you. Royal Buildings will not only give you castle points and coins, but can also give you items when they gain a level. Some of them actually give nice rewards, and if you really have active neighbors that always tend the royal building, it’s not that hard to level up the royal building. Here’s the guide:

It’s time to open your hard earned Christmas presents in Castleville and also help Kris Kringle return home in his winter vacation quests. All the Christmas gifts will be expired on January 4, 2012.. so don’t forget to open them before that time. And one more thing.. currently there’s a glitch in the game that will allow you to open the gifts unlimited time! But there are some requirements though.. and one of them is to keep your gift in inbox message. It’s up to you whether you want to abuse the gift or not, but remember: do it at your own risk.

Here’s how to open the presents:
Click on your Yulefest Holiday Tree

Now, there are options for you to choose which Christmas gift you want to open.

Click one, and all the rewards from the gift will show under your character.

Open all the gifts and enjoy your rewards!
NOTE: The glitch below has been patched by Zynga.
Now for the unlimited gift opening glitch, you need to meet this requirement in order for the glitch to happen:
- Already open all presents
- Still have gift from friends in your inbox message
So for those who still have the present gift from friends in their inbox message, you can make the glitch happened (until Zynga team fix the bug).
Now after you have opened all the gifts the very first time, refresh the game, and accept all the present gift in your inbox message. Once it’s done, try to click the Yulefest Holiday Tree.
Yulefest tree message after opening all the presents

Yulefest tree message after refresh and receiving the gifts from inbox message

What happened is the game will allow you to open the gifts again, and this time you can do it unlimited times (until you refresh/exit the game)! Note: After you open your first gifts in the glitch, the rewards will always stay the same as the first time you open it during the glitch.
Here’s our experience, after opening the gifts a few many times:

How’s that for a Christmas presents

Hi Castleville players, today there’s been an update in this game. Finally we can have a storage and Zynga also gave the kingdom with a Snowy outlook. Not all item can be put in storage though, but hey, better than nothing right
? The storage cellar can be upgraded until it can hold up to 500 items. There’s no official guide yet from Zynga for the storage cellar, so we’ll make it ourselves then :).
Some other changes that we found are:
- Now you can send the christmas gift per 6 hours.
- Extended time for Kris Kringle Quest.
- Some new limited edition winter items.
- New Kitchen Recipe: Castle Berry Punch.
- New Gift Shoppe Recipe: Lazy Spring.
- Three new quests coming: Duke Outta Time Quest, Duke Castle Berry Punch Quest and Kris Kringle Winter Vacation Quest.
Here’s a quick and short guide about how to use the storage cellar:
You can buy storage cellar at the market in the houses tab – special section. It costs 10,000 coins, and you need to be at least level 6 so you can acces the storage cellar.

Place the storage cellar in your kingdom and now you need to construct it. The first level allow you to store up to 50 items. Materials needed: 15 Stones and 15 Wood Logs.

When you want to store an item, you can click the design menu and find the storage icon on the leftmost column, and click the icon.

Now you are in the storage mode, you can see your pointer have a small storage icon. Click on an item that you want to store, remember, currently there are some items that you can not put in storage. If you want to know whether an object can be stored or not, hover over the object while in storage mod, if it does not highlight, then you can’t store the item. Another thing, if you store a royal decoration item that gives castle point(s), you will also lose the castle points until you put it back to the kingdom. Now for example we want to store a pine tree, click on the pine tree and it will give you a message, click yes to store the item.

Now what if you want to take out the item of storage and put it back in your kingdom? Simple actually, you just need to go to your inventory, and find the items that you have store in the new storage tab.

Just click use and you can choose where you want to put the item back in your kingdom.
Coming up next.. storage cellar upgrade requirement guide.
Still don’t know where to unlock the ritual site for Alastair quest? Or where’s the Old farmhouse located for Yvette Father’s Love quest? or maybe Sonja’s treasure chest location? Now with this Castleville direction map, you should know all the location you need for the current Castleville quests
.

You can see the enlarge version in our facebook page. The map will help you to find location for these quests:
- Alastair – The search for Alastair Quest
- Sonja – Rafael Stranger in the Gloom Quest
- Sonja’s booty – Sonja Treasure Hunt Quest
- The cursed chest – Sonja The Cursed Chest Quest
- Old Farmhouse – Yvette Father’s Love Quest
- Ritual site – The Gloom Lord Quest
- Izadora – no quest, but when you unlock her, she will give you quests
- Expansion Pack – no quest, but check about it in this post : the 2100 castle point gloom area
So if you have friends / neighbors that need help to find the location for the quests mentioned above, feel free to share this
. We will try to keep this Castleville direction map updated for the future quest location.
Perhaps many of you already know about this, but for those who are still wondering about what are the rewards or what will happen when you unlock the 2100 Castle Points Gloom Area, then you need to read this.
Currently in this game, there are 2 gloom areas that require you to have 2100 Castle points to see the full requirement:

And the full requirement for those 2 areas are the same, you need 2100 Castle Level, 20 Crystals and 259000 coins.. ouch!

As you can see on the 2100 castle points gloom area pictures before, each of them has three bags inside, now don’t you wonder what’s inside the bags? Well here’s what we found

Opened the first backpack chest:

And the rest:

Each of those backpack chest contains:
- Small Energy Potion (3 energy points)
- Energy Potion (5 energy points)
- Medium Energy Potion (7 energy points)
- Big Energy Potion (10 energy points)
- Huge Energy Potion (30 energy points)
- 3,000 Coins
- 30 XP
- Love potion
- Super Grow
- Fishing Bait
- Diamond
- Ruby
- Exploration Crystal
- Collection Box
- Fertilizer
- Gloom Goblin Potion
- Gloom Rat Potion
- Gloom Thief Potion
- Gloom Wolf Potion
- Hyper Craft
- Love Potion
- Super Chop
- Super Clobber
- Sword
Very nice rewards indeed, you’ve got a total of 55 energy points and a lot of other items for 1 backpack chest. Now we wonder why Sonja doesn’t try to look for these treasures?? :D
Unfortunately for the other 2100 Castle points gloom area, we only got 2 backpack chests that contain those items we mentioned above. One backpack only contains one random item
, we’re not sure if it was a bug or not for our case.
Anyway it’s totally worthed to spend your Coins and exploration crystals to unlock these gloom areas, so better hurry and do it

Festive Tree Globe
This is the official guide info from Zynga about how do the gift-a-pult and the Holiday Tree (Humble Yulifest Tree) works. Oh yeah, some people ask that they cannot oen the new gifts (trinket, etc). Well actually you can only open the presents on / after 25th December 2011.. seems like Zynga is really preparing for this Christmas update
. Anyway, here’s the guide:
Help Kris Kringle deliver his gifts using the Gift-A-Pult! The Gift-A-Pult lets you send gifts to friends, and in turn they can launch some to your as well. Also, you’ll be able to place all your gifts under your new Holiday Tree – the more you receive the larger your tree will become (presents are like Fertilizer for Holiday Trees).
How it works:
After placing your Holiday Tree and constructing the Gift-A-Pult, you’ll be able to send and receive gifts! On the 25th of December you’ll be able to open your gifts and see all the awesome things you received!
The Holiday Tree
Once you receive enough of one gift, you’ll unlock the next one and be able to send that one to your neighbors. (You may purchase gifts for yourself at any time by with Crowns.) Once you’ve unlocked the next gift, your Holiday Tree will also upgrade!

View your gifts by clicking on your Holiday Tree.

The Gift-A-Pult

Launch the gifts that you’ve unlocked to your neighbors by using the Gift-A-Pult. The more gifts you receive, the more you’ll unlock and be able to send to your friends, but don’t worry, you won’t lose any of your gifts by sending any to your neighbors.
You can access the presents to send by clicking on the Gift-A-Pult.

In the Gift-A-Pult window, you can send gifts by clicking on the “Send Gifts” button below each unlocked gift. Once you’ve launched some gifts, a cool-down timer will appear before you may send more of that particular gift. (You can still send another unlocked gift if you haven’t already done so within the time period for it.)

To see what items you might receive from each gift, just hover the mouse over them to see the description.

Q: How do I know what I’ll receive from each gift?
A: If you hover your mouse over each gift under the Holiday Tree tab you’ll see that you have a chance to receive various items for each gift. (Don’t shake your presents!)

Q: Will I lose my gifts by sending some to friends?
A: Nope! It’s magic, just like gifts you made in the Gift Shoppe.
Q: I have all the previous gifts required for the next gift, but my tree has not grown, why?
A: It may take a short while for your tree to grow after receiving the required gifts. Switching between tabs or refreshing may help clear this up.
Don’t forget to grab some new neighbors and spread the holiday cheer (and gifts!)
